Cassie is a passionate community leader and advocate, striving for equal opportunities.
Raised on a Dairy Farm on the outskirts of Toowoomba, Cassie has a passion for regional, rural and remote Australia. Starting her love affair with Local Government in 2001 as a Trainee with Paroo Shire Council, Cassie has had many accomplishments over the years.
Named as Paroo Shires Young Australian of the year in 2002 Cassie represented Cunnamulla through a number of ambassador roles in education, leadership and community.
Focused on remaining in community once finishing high school, Cassie completed a Bachelor or Commerce dual degree in Advanced Accounting and Management Law via distance education whilst continuing to work full time with the Council.
Community and Local Government have always held a special place in Cassie’s heart, however, in 2008 following organisational changes Cassie set her sights on personal and professional l growth and relocated from Cunnamulla to Toowoomba. Focused on returning to Cunnamulla with skills enough to successfully undertake the CEO role one day.
Over the years out of Cunnamulla, Cassie experienced a number of Local Government Authorities; mostly across Australia, and in the later years focusing on Queensland.
2013 saw the birth of LoGov Logic; Cassie’s very own financial consultancy business. Driven to help rural, remote and indigenous Councils with a vision to develop the staff capacity and capability. The business was incredibly successful, however with a daughter nearing age to start Kindy, some stability of location was necessary.
2018, Cassie transitioned back to Local Government payroll in far Western Queensland and took the honourable title one of Queensland Local Governments most accomplished young members.
With a passion for the bush, community and family Cassie never lost focus of her goal, which, when leaving Paroo at age 21 was to always return as the CEO. In June 2020, Cassie’s dreams become reality, securing her goal job as Chief Executive Officer of Paroo Shire Council. Cassie moved home and is well on her way to advancing opportunities for her community.
