Sana has recently joined the ACT Government as Assistant Director for the Office for Multicultural Affairs in the Community Services Directorate. In this role, Sana is responsible for the Welcoming Cities project, working towards making Canberra a more inclusive and welcoming city for all. Previously, Sana worked in the community sector, managing the national peak body for migrant and refugee women in Australia. With expertise in gender, migration, and multiculturalism, she is passionate about making social and public policy inclusive, intersectional, and equitable. Sana is the author of “Finding the enemy within: Blasphemy accusations and subsequent violence in Pakistan”, a book based on her multi-award winning PhD dissertation completed at the Australian National University in 2019.
