May Sabet

May Sabet is an educator and community development practitioner whose work focuses on how communities build the capacity to shape their own futures. As a programme coordinator at the Hampton Park Community Learning Centre and with the Training Institute in Victoria and Tasmania, she works alongside neighbourhoods to strengthen capacities for consultation, collective learning and unified action, enabling individuals and groups to become protagonists in their own lives and communities. Guided by the belief that lasting change emerges from within communities themselves, May’s research explores how neighbourhood-level education can serve as a force for social transformation and the advancement of civilization.
