Paul McCarthy is the Executive Manager, Governance and Strategy at the Australian National Maritime Museum. The Museum is responsible for collecting and sharing stories of Australian maritime history, including about migration to Australia. Paul is currently leading the conceptual work for the Museum to enhance understanding and engagement with the national migration story. Paul has worked for Federal, State and Local Governments in Australia over the last 30 years in senior roles in various social and economic policy portfolios, including the arts and culture. He also served two terms on the Advertising Standards Board of Australia and one term on the Speech Pathologists Board of Queensland. Paul has travelled to more than 50 countries and led small group pilgrimages to Brasil and Europe.
