Sarah leads the Active and Healthy team within the Community Development department for Logan City Council. This work involves collaborating with State Government to determine health trends and designing and implementing programs and projects to support current community health needs. The Active and Healthy team aim to provide free or low-cost health and wellbeing programs to the Logan community which supports their physical activity, education, nutrition, wellbeing and social inclusion.
Recently, Sarah’s team was recently successful in receiving funding from the Department of Health to deliver the Swim Logan program. This program has been hugely successful since its commencement in November 2020, delivering vital learn to swim lessons to migrants and refugees aged 16 years and over.
